SCN’s high mechanical training with the iconic Valentino Balboni

We are proud of doing our part in the growth of territory in which we operate and for the enhancement of those who – like us – do their job with love.

For this reason we have participated with enthusiasm to the practical classes of IFTS course (higher technical education and training) aimed to train “Restorers technicians of classic car mechanics”.

The students, who have attended the lessons in our plants between June and July, have had a very prestigious teacher, a real legend for sport car enthusiasts: our lifelong friend and collaborator Valentino Balboni, historic test driver for Lamborghini, to whom in 2009 the Company in Sant’Agata have dedicated a special edition of the Gallardo LP550-2 named “ Valentino Balboni edition” and they produced just 250 models of it.

After a lifetime spent in testing cars, Valentino has developed an incomparable knowledge of the mechanics and of the cars road behaviour, he has also grown a great passion that involves and excites the students, leading them to the discovery of the secrets and the details unknown also by many experts.

The Course, addressed to 20 students, will last for 800 hours, from November 2020 to October 2021 and it is organized from CNI- ECIPAR,  higher education institution “A.Ferrari” of Maranello, Enzo Ferrari’s Engineering department – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Engineering Departement – University of Ferrara, with the active collaborations of some historic Companies of our territory, among which there is also our Company SCN.

Every two years the original training module of the course alternately concentrates its focus on the bodywork restoration and on the mechanics of classic cars: the 2019-2020 edition focused on the bodywork restoration while the 2020-2021 edition was dedicated to the mechanical part.

If everything goes on schedule, in the 2021-2022 edition the Course will focus again on the classic cars restoration: we will give once again our support for the preservation and the enhancement of a timeless job, that after a half century of work, still passionates us as the first day.
