As we have already said, we have accepted to do our part with enthusiasm and pride in the “technician restorer of the classic car” IFTS courses. These courses are organized by ECIPAR Modena, in collaboration with the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari” of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, with the Engineering Department of the University of Ferrara, with the IIS Ferrari of Maranello (MO) and with the major Companies operating on classic cars restoration in Modena.

We have done that because we strongly believe in the importance of teaching and preserving a timeless job that, after a half century of work, still arouses us as the first day. We didn’t expect an award, we have done that for passion and sense of responsibility towards the new generations and towards a territory – that of Modena – which has given so much to the Cars and Engines world.

But today an award has arrived: it is a very high-level Prize. With pleasure and great satisfaction we announce that FIVA – Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens, UNESCO’s official partner- has assigned the Culture Awards 2021 in the category EDUCATION, TRAINING and the raising of AWARENESS to the IFTS “Technician restorer of classic car” course, in which we are participating too as SCN.

Our thanks and congratulations go to all the partners, institutions and Companies that collaborate to this amazing training course in any way. For once, we can write it: GOOD JOB EVERYONE! And we wish you good work for the next edition of the course, starting in the next few days.

Although the difficulties caused by the pandemic, our growth and strengthening path started less than a year ago, is going on.

Between the end of the spring and the beginning of the summer – as who follows us closely knows – we finished the renovation and the functional modernizing of our historic Plant B that is always more and more efficient and specialized in the classic car restoration and bodywork services.

At the beginning of the summer, beyond some initial bureaucratic difficulties were overcome, largely due to COVID- we celebrated together the start of the works for the realization of the PLANT C, the new and modern plant of about 1300 meters ( + 1000 meters of storage area) in which our activities of Carbon components painting will find the definitive headquarters.

Well, today we are pleased to inform you that the works on “Plant C” are promptly going on and actually they are significantly speeding up.

Specifically, they are finishing the building works of range, reinforcement and renovation, necessary for creating the innovative layout which will ensure simple and efficient production workflows, high quality “by design” and the traceability of every single component thanks to the passive RFID system, which allow the Customer to get a real-time data access concerning the relevant informations.

The acceleration of the last few months is allowing us to be realigned to the assumed timetable, so we hope to finish the works by the end of December and to reach the full operation between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, in substantive agreement with what originally foreseen in the industrial plan.

We would like to thank all the people who are working for achieving this ambitious goal which – we repeat – will be guarantee an increase of the productivity by 30% and it will lead to the hiring of fifteen new highly specialized people.

Get ready because the opening day will be a party, to which you all will be invited!

We had anticipated it in July and now, luckily, we can officially confirm it. It’s going to start in November the 2021-2022 edition of the IFTS (Higher technical education and training) for “technician restorer of the classic car” course.

An edition that, as planned, focuses again on the restoration of the classic car’s bodywork. We will give once again our support for the conservation and the enhancement of timeless job, that after a half century of work, still arouses us as the first day. 

The course is organized and managed by Ecipar Modena, in collaboration with the Engineering Departement “Enzo Ferrari” of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, with the Engineering Departement of the University of Ferrara, with the IIS Ferrari of Maranello (MO) and with the major Companies working on classic car restoration in Modena. The course is articulated in 800 hours: 520 will be in the classroom, whereas 280 will be held as a stage in a Company. 

During the first 520 hours the students (about 20) will alternate in between workshops, lessons with expert artisans, painters and panel beaters, collectors, engineers and university teachers for integrating the traditional techniques of restoration with the modern technologies such as additive manufacturing, reverse modeling and metallographic analysis. In the following 280 hours of stage, the participants will directly operate inside the major Companies in the restoration of classic car of Modena, among these also SCN. 

The initiative will be introduced during a public event – in which we will participate – planned on Monday, October 18^th at 6 pm, you will be able to follow it in presence in the events room of the Tecnopolo di Modena (Via vivarelli 2, Modena) or live streaming. The presence at the event is free after registration of Ecipar’s blog (Green pass mandatory).

We have recently adopted a new software for the management of the fulfillment related to the GDPR system.

The path made with Alchimie Digitali has enabled us to use an algorithm, recognised at European level, provides for the regular tracking of all the processes related to the data management, in the full respect of the Company accountability principle.

Data protection, full respect of the normative and assumption of the responsibility, are entirely in line with the philosophy of SCN which has always guaranteed to his customers also the confidentiality and the privacy on all the manufacturing implemented.

The choice of a certified management system attests that the Company works hard to treat safely the personal data of all our interlocutors, suppliers or employees. Having participated to this path means adopting a coherent approach in line with the philosophy of the Company also in the application of the certification mechanisms.

An integral part of this path is also the training and the continuous updating of the staff committed to the treatment of personal data. This training process has a double significance, because it proves the concrete adoption of measures aimed to the strict application of the legislation and it is also relevant in terms of the accountability principle.

Not seldom, the story of Companies is told backwards in time, rewriting (sometimes inventing!) afterwards managerial choices, sights and decisions.

In our case there is no need to rewrite or invent: our story is as a whole with “territorio Modenese”, a land in which the passion for cars and engines is familiar since childhood.

So, for talking about SCN we have decided to tell only the simple story of three Emilian boys: grandfather, son and grandson. Three boys of three different generations who have dreamt, since they were children, of taking care and running cars.

The first of these boys founded SCN forty-eight years ago and since then he has never stopped to follow his passion; the second has inherited the same passion, the same enthusiasm and he plays a fundamental role in the Company. The third probably will improve what we have been able to do and he will accomplish what we have just started.

Maybe in other places our history would be different, maybe it would be told in a different way, but here, in the legendary “Motor Valley emiliana”, we simply feel as lucky boys who have had the opportunity to live their dreams. That’s the way we like to talk about us.

We are proud of doing our part in the growth of territory in which we operate and for the enhancement of those who – like us – do their job with love.

For this reason we have participated with enthusiasm to the practical classes of IFTS course (higher technical education and training) aimed to train “Restorers technicians of classic car mechanics”.

The students, who have attended the lessons in our plants between June and July, have had a very prestigious teacher, a real legend for sport car enthusiasts: our lifelong friend and collaborator Valentino Balboni, historic test driver for Lamborghini, to whom in 2009 the Company in Sant’Agata have dedicated a special edition of the Gallardo LP550-2 named “ Valentino Balboni edition” and they produced just 250 models of it.

With the arrival of summer, a new season has opened also for our PLANT C, the new plant entirely dedicated to the painting of carbon components.

After the ending of the planning phase and the acquisition of the necessary authorizations, the plant renovation works and – above all – the creation of the new operational infrastructures by our supplier FAM from Arezzo have achieved a good result. This Company is specialized in the design and creation of painting industry cabins and for bodywork.

The Plant C is located a few steps away from the historic plants in which the traditional activities such as classic cars restoration and bodywork will continue and a surface is about 1300 square meters and the storage area is about 1000 meters.

The complete layout is studied for ensuring simple and efficient production workflows, guaranteeing the high quality “by design” and the traceability of every single component thanks to the passive RFID system which will allow the Customer to get a real-time data access concerning the relevant information.

The new Plant which- as planned – should achieve its complete operational capability between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 and it has required an investment of over 1,5 Millions Euros, it will ensure an increase of productivity by over 30% and it will lead to the hiring of fifteen new highly specialized people.
